Pete Groves

My paintings are a re-creation of observations and experiences of the everyday often creating my own visual story, leaving it to the viewer to create their story or a semblance of life.  Layered and blended with colour and shapes, with patterns and symbols reflecting and directing of nature its surroundings and its interactions with man, sometimes with a satirical undertone.

Pete Groves completed a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at Swinburne Institute of Technology and began to make a living from painting while living for several years in Mexico, surrounded by a rich culture, colour, history and great friends.

Pete’s work is represented in private collections in Australia, the USA, Japan and London, including the BHP Billiton London collection. Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, Subiaco, Western Australia. Southern Health Art gallery, Monash Medical Centre, Victoria.

Pete has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions over the past 30 years.
